Why is my sons quad driving forward on its own?

My son’s 50cc kids quad seems to be driving forward on its on as soon as its started without the thumb throttle being touched. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Thanks for any help.

Hi Stacy,

This isn’t a forum for ATVs, It is a forum for QUADCOPTERs, but I can understand how you could be confused about that.

It sounds like your son’s quad is driving forward without throttle because perhaps the idle is set to high. If that is the case the ATV would engage the clutch (I am assuming that it is an automatic ATV) and thus cause it to go forward.

Try having the idle adjusted by a qualified mechanic.
