How warm are motors supposed to get?
The N52 magnets used in Emax red-bottom (and other) motors have a rated temperature of less than 80 degrees Celsius. So I use 70 degrees as a guideline. Other motors with higher-temperature magnets could run hotter, but 70 is plenty hot, so why push it?
If you don’t have a thermometer, the guideline I use is to pinch the motor bell and, if I can’t hold my fingers on it for 3-5 seconds without it being painfully hot, it’s too hot.
