- lack of interest
- lack of interest from some key Project Sparrow team members.
I have been tossing back and forth the idea of just finishing the design myself and cutting the frame here in Denver, as we have a CNC in the shop, and designs for a 4.1 and a 5 are finished, but I would need to produce enough pre-orders to make it worth while which I don’t think is going to happen.
I was looking into getting carbon fiber material made here in the USA for the project but the cost was prohibitively expensive (upwards of 5 times what Chinese carbon fiber costs) Also, there are issues with tariffs now which makes a project like this not feasible at this time.
If we could make it here in the USA for less than $100 a frame than I would all about it. That might change but not before Spring time.
If and when we do make a new version of the Sparrow, we will alert our mailing list, so please make sure to add yourself to the list if you are not on it already!
Thanks again for your inquiry, I am sorry that I don’t have a better answer for you. 🙁
