I’m about to buy my first QC, and I’ve chosen the H8D.  In my research, it seems to be there’s an ‘original’, then a later one where JJRC made improvements.  #1 is that true?  #2 If so, how do I ensure I get the best/updated model?  Any info would be super and appreciated!  Thanks! 🙂

The other one I was looking at was the WLtoys V686G.  Any thoughts about that one?

Really want to record video, and I was really excited about the FPV and want to stay under ~200.  I didn’t like the shipping length on the H8D (or the manufacture distance), and read a lot about motors burning out, but can’t seem to find any 2Mp camera with FPV downlink for that price range.  Completely open to any suggestions you might have.  Not an electronics wizard, so the more it’s shipped with limited assembly, the better.  Thanks again for your time!

Hi John,

I think you should consider that there are many users of quads such as the H8D that are unhappy because there is a disconnect between the manufacturer of the equipment and the end users who are buying it.

For first timers, I recommend building a zmr-250 quadcopter, and running known-to-work equipment such as cobra motors, dys-sn20 escs, and a naze32 to get flying.

What are your goals? what kind of flying do you want to do?

I think that Husbsans are a good introductory quadcopter vs the H8D, but you will soon find yourself wanting more. 🙂
