Just received Taranis from you. What do I have?

Ok, I just opened the new Taranis and the receiver from you today!  Everything looks good and I have the radio charging with the wall-charger.

I see there is a quad already programmed on the radio.  What do I have here and what do I need to do next?

My son and I are going to begin the QAV250 Luminiere build tonight with a CC3D FC.  Which utility program should I use to set up the FC?

Is the radio ready to go or will I need to do more programming?

Feel free to call me.

Hi,  Thank you for posting your question here.

The quadquestions radios come pre-programmed with a custom QAV250 model already setup.

Taranis X9D Plus Model & Settings Files, Voice pack, and Support

Essentially, the radio is setup and ready to fly with a Naze32 flight controller.  The mix is setup so that it will work out of the box.

We typically setup our QAV250s to work with ppm, but this should also work using a breakout cable.

You will be required to match your naze32 switch settings with the ones shown here:

what this will do is map the aux switch settings to the switches setup in the radio mixer, So:

Aux 1 or SA will arm the quad when the switch is down in the high position, will sound the beeper in the middle position, and disarm the quad in the low position.

Aux2 or SB will enable altitude hold in the middle position if you have a full naze32.  It will enable header mode in the high position.

Aux3 or SC will be the flight mode switch.  This will enable angle mode in the low position, horizon mode in the med position and rate mode in the high position (if no other flight modes are set, then the flight controller will operate in Rate mode.

Aux 4 will enable heading hold using the magnetometer if you have a naze32 full and it will remove the OSD display in the high position if you have an OSD connected running MWOSD or Team KVOSD firmware.

We ship out our radios with the assumption that the QAV250 model will be flying with an acro board, so the above switch positions will work, but you will not have audible callouts when the aux2 or aux 4 switches are engaged.

If you purchased the Taranis from QuadQuestions and you would like the model for the full board, please contact us and we will give you access to it.

If you would like to purchase these QAV250 models and you didn’t purchase your Taranis from QuadQuestions, you can do so by following this link.

The model labeled 4-1 is the model that has the voice enabled for the Full Naze32, both acro and full models are accessible via the link above.

Thanks for posting here.
