I tried to replace the stock camera with a runcam Swift RR edition but the resulting image is ugly and gets distorted, based on image content (horizontal stripes get shifted when they contain bright areas).

The stock camera seems to be using 5V which would be ok for the Swift as well, but maybe it is not sufficient.

How can I switch the power settings/voltage supplied to the camera port? (There is a camera upgrade available for the QQ190 – does it also require any settings to change?)

You can use the TBS Agent software to change the camera voltage supply between 5v and 12v.
