Question about propellers mounted on outrunner motors

I am building my very first quad, and I have a question.  Before I discovered you guys, I had already purchased my frame, motors, ESC’s, and propellers.  The motors I am using are Emax MT2213 outrunner type motors.  My props are carbon fiber 1045’s.  When I set the prop on the motor, it doesn’t really slide over the mounting area to be what I would called seated.  In fact, the shaft that protrudes beyond the prop is barely a full thread circle for the nut to attach.  My question s this normal? Or do I need to sand the prop openings to enlarge the holes to allow them to seat?  The 1st photo shows the prop nut fully seated on the shaft of the MT2213.  The 2nd photo is the bottom side of the 1045 prop.  The 3rd photo shows the prop on the motor as far as it will go, and how little thread shows on the shaft.

HI Tony, Thank you for posting here.

It looks like those props are made to mount on a variety of different motor shafts.  It is not normal, however for you to have only two threads sticking out beyond the prop. Were those props designed for those motors?

From looking at the props themselves, it looks as though they are stepped to accept different shaft sizes.  Sometimes you have to drill props out to make them work.

The motors that we sell along with our HQ props all have plenty of thread left over to get an entire locknut on above the top of the propeller.

It looks as though your propellers are damaged a bit too.  In the 3rd photo, it looks as though the prop is damaged where it connects to the shaft on the left hand side.

You should have very tight fitting props-When we install ours, typically we have to really push on them to get them to fit the shaft.

You might be able to drill those out so that they sit over the bottom part of the shaft, but it still doesn’t seem right.  Did those props come with a kit you purchased?

It might be a good idea seeing as this is your first build to start out with some Dal or HQ props and then work your way up to carbon fiber once you have learned how to crash.

The props did not come with the kit. I bought them with the motors, but they were packed in plain clear bags with nothing but the size wrote on the package. I looked in your store but didn’t see any 1045 props. Do you have them?
