Red light on naze32/ppm problems

Hey there, So I’m at a stand still with my PPM problems.

So here’s what’s happening. I’m running Rotorgeek 12a blheli esc(ppm) I’m running Baseflight, with a OrangeRX6channel with a Spektrum DX6. I go into Baseflight and enable PPM and Oneshot. But after saving changes the Red light comes on the Naze and won’t communicate with my DX6. If I turn PWM back on it works like normal and I can control the quad. I tried this once before and I ended up burning out the Main esc (pwr, sig, grd) So I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong and don’t want to burn this next esc out. Any idea’s what I’m doing wrong? I’ve search forums for this and found a couple people asking the same question, but no ones has a answer? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PPM in baseflight effects the Receiver signal.  If you enable feature PPM, then you are essentially telling your Flight controller that you are using a receiver set up in CPPM mode and you should only be connecting 1 wire (pos, neg, signal)between your rx and your Flight controller.

The flight controller outputs PWM to the motors.  It sounds like those escs are setup to connect directly to the rx outputting PPM, but you have a flight controller, so you have to turn the PPM setting off.

Can you disable the PPM function on the ESCs?
